Kornelius Paede

Kornelius Paede, born in 1988 in Augsburg, is a dramaturge and music theater scholar. He studied musicology and German in Würzburg and expanded his focus on contemporary music theater and electronic music by completing his master´s degree in music theater dramaturgy at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich. While still a student Kornelius Paede was portrayed in the trade magazine “Opernwelt“ as an aspiring dramaturge. He has been a dramaturge at the Oper Halle since 2017. In the spring of 2018 he was editorially responsible for the volume “Raumbühne HETEROTOPIA. Neue Perspektiven im Musiktheater,“ which was published by the magazine “Theater der Zeit.“ In 2019, in collaboration with the Research Institute for Music Theater of the University of Bayreuth, he organized a three-day conference on the social relevance of music theater. He has conducted lectures at the universities in Würzburg; Munich; and Augsburg, and most recently at Schwarzmarkt für nützliches Wissen und Nicht-Wissen der Kulturstiftung des Bundes (“Black Market of Useful Knowledge and Non-knowledge of the Federal Cultural Foundation“).
