Blanka Rádóczy was born in Pécs, Hungary, and she grew up there and in Switzerland. She studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna in the set and film design program. During and after her studies she worked on numerous productions as an assistant set designer to Anna Viebrock. After completing her studies, she worked freelance for three years as a set and costume designer. She studied directing for theater and music theater at the Theaterakademie August Everding (chairman: Sebastian Baumgarten). With her bachelor thesis production of “Teorema“ by P. P. Pasolini she was invited to the Körber Studio Junge Regie festival where she won the Audience Award, and she was named “Best Young Director“ in the critics´ poll conducted by the magazine “Theater heute.“ Her production “Der Mieter“ (“The Tenant“) was invited to the Radikal Jung festival in 2019. She works as a theater and music theater director at, among others, Residenztheater in Munich; Staatsoper Stuttgart; and Schauspielhaus Graz.
