Sarah Grahneis initially studied theater, media studies, and musicology at the University of Bayreuth. In 2009, in addition to her studies, she was employed at the Bayreuth Festival, where she took over as production manager of “Wagner für Kinder – Der fliegende Holländer“ (“Wagner for Children – The Flying Dutchman“). She was also a member of the research project “OPERA – Spectrum of European Music Theater.“ This was followed by her postgraduate studies in theater and orchestra management at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. During this time she was an assistant at the Institute for Contemporary Music, and she completed a trainee program in dramaturgy at Staatstheater Mainz and Staatsoper Berlin. From 2012 to 2014 she had a scholarship from the “Akademie Musiktheater heute“ of the Deutsche Bank Foundation. Since 2012 Sarah Grahneis has been a music theater dramaturge at Staatstheater Braunschweig, and she has worked with directors such as Christopher Alden; Lotte de Beer; David Hermann; Dietrich W. Hilsdorf; Philipp Kochheim; Thaddeus Strassberger; Roland Schwab; and Tatjana Gürbaca.
